Recently in the newspaper, a guy was cheated by his girlfriend who co-operate with a “Feng Shui” master. The girlfriend urge the guy to engage the Feng Shui master to look at his house feng shui. The master say the house is not good for the couple and that he will be able to help them mitigate the problem by doing a prayer and chanting. The master also ask the guy not to tell anyone about it and not to sell the house in 3 years. The girlfriend also ask the guy to buy a feng shui charm bracelet for her as a protection against bad luck. Then the girlfriend say there is something wrong with the shipment of the bracelet and require to get a new one. Sensing something not right, the guy (lucky he can sense it) broke off with the gal. The damage… RM20,000

Madoff was convicted of operating a Ponzi scheme that has been called the largest investor fraud ever committed by a single person. It is estimated that his clients which include some very big names, losses amounting to $65billion. Madoff list of clients include banks, education institutes, insurance companies, actors, actresses, TV hosts, etc. If I may borrow a phrase from Ripley..”Unbelievable…. Believe it”

Yupe.. people like to work efficiently and hope everything is presented to them with a simple piece of information. So they could conveniently decide the next course of action.

Ever receive an email saying that your bank require you to change password or do something with your account. Ahhh.. how nice of them and how good of them too to include a link for you to do the thing they ask you to perform. But if you examine the link properly, you will notice the link is not related to the actual bank internet address. And if you are unlucky not to notice sometimes a minor difference in the address, you will sure click on it and the website that present to you is exactly the replica of the bank website.

So please check with your bank to confirm on the email validity or if you don’t want to (cause you hate to call bank cause they always put you on hold, unless you are their top client) then always fire up a browser and type in the bank internet address yourself instead of being lazy and opt for the convenience of an embedded link.

So beware…

Is this guy really exist? Or just a false identity? No one knows, only Mr. Holliday knows what his real name is. Patrick Holliday is linked with yupe none other than the infamous “Nigerian Scam”.

Search the Internet and you will get tons and tons of results. In a nutshell, the scoundrel works by blinding the victim with promises of an unimaginable fortune. Once the victim is sufficiently glittery-eyed over the prospect of becoming fabulously rich, he is squeezed for however much money he has. This he parts with willingly, thinking “What’s $5,000 here or $10,000 there when I’m going to end up with $2 million when this is all done?” He fails to realize during the sting that he’s never going to get the promised fortune; all of this messing around is designed to part him from his money.

So beware…

There is this “Get Rich Scam” that we all heard of, but what I am going to write here is something new, well at least to me. It is in the newspaper. There is this Javanese maid, 25, from Bandar Baru, Nilai. She posed semi-nude willingly for her employer. Her employer claim that her photos will appear in the Indonesian version of Playboy magazine. She posed in 25 sexy positions while her employer happily took shots of her. Talking about wanting to be famous.

The employer disappeared soon after and the promised payment of RM$1000 for her work was not honoured. Now she fear that her photos will be circulated around especially the internet. (Well isn’t that what she want, being famous)

The title of the blog is really fitting. Yet another of my friend got cheated. This time is worst not by an individual but by a College. Don’t they know college is suppose to provide education, shouldn’t the people running the college uphold the meaning of proper education. Maybe they did, maybe their objective is to teach people not to be cheated. The headmaster name is Oliver Tan (my friend took the picture above while he is attending his class, sorry the picture not very clear as he use his mobile to take it). He informed the students (and too bad one of them is my friend) to get a study loan from Bank Rakyat and the amount is not small. The problem is the study loan amount is actually 2 times the actual course fee, with the promise that the extra loan amount to be given back to the student. What a load of bull. And in the end, the money is in the college bank for safe keeping. My friend ending up paying extra instalment.

Scoundrel cheated my friend

My 1st post is none the less matching to the blog name and also is the main reason I started to blog.

My friend has worked hard and saved some money for his wedding but all the money are gone. Gone to the scoundrel. My friend wanted to open a mamak store with his hard earned money nearby his residence in SS2. Thinking not to run against the law he went to MPPJ to apply for licence. But the problem is before he could meet up with a real officer, he met an impersonator, claiming himself is an offier who can process the licence within 1 week. The guy, Mr. Abdul (most likely not his real name), came out from the lift in the MPPJ building, and saw my friend asking for direction. That is the start of a great lie. Of course, Mr. Abdul claimed that in order to process faster, he needs to bribe some people. All in all, my friend lost RM5,000 of his hard earned money.
